Open MRI

The only one of its kind in Georgia, our Toshiba Titan MRI produces exquisitely detailed pictures of the body's inner workings. The lack of an enclosed tube makes it comfortable for children and adults, and the clarity of imagery often means more precise surgeries and earlier detection of cancers.

Two 320-Slice CT Scanners

Highly detailed images of your body’s insides are produced using computed tomography, or CT, scanning. Meadows Regional is the only hospital in Georgia with two Toshiba 320-slice CT scanners. Their detailed 3D images help diagnose heart disease and complex conditions with unprecedented clarity.

Fluoroscopy and Radiography

Rather than still images, these x-rays show motion. They allow physicians to examine actual body motions, such as blood flowing through arteries and food moving through the digestive tract. Fluoroscopy and radiography are used to help guide procedures like cardiac catheterization.

Vascular Catheterizations

By inserting a catheter into the arm or leg and guiding it through a blood vessel to the exact spot of the problem, physicians can assess heart health concerns in great detail. With vascular catheterizations, physicians can more easily diagnose clogged arteries, embolisms and other dangerous heart-related conditions.

Echocardiography

With an echocardiogram, doctors can see the heart as it beats. “Moving pictures” are created by sound waves—much more detailed than plain x-rays—to enable more accurate evaluation of heart murmurs, abnormal rhythms and the heart’s ability to pump.

Digital Mammography

Digital mammography uses a low-dose x-ray to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Images can be seen in seconds.

Nuclear Medicine

Small, safe amounts of radioactive material are used to produce highly detailed images of organs and tissues. Once the radioactive element is injected into a vein, swallowed or inhaled, a high-tech machine is used to show the imagery and help physicians diagnose and treat many serious conditions.
